The Location

Our historical monument is situated at the top of Nesselberg, a wooded hill overlooking two lakes, Binnenmüritz and Feisneck. Here, you’re at the edge of Waren (Müritz), from where you an stroll to the town’s harbour and centre in just a few minutes.

Two public swimming spots, as well as the Müritz National Park, are right on your doorstep. Enjoy the wonderfully relaxing silence, the sunrises and sunsets over rippling waters and the diverse nature all around the tower.

The Area

Regardless of the time of year, a stay in the water tower is special. The Müritz Nation Park is just a stone’s throw away from the Wasserturm, and is packed full of beautiful nature. For example, thousands of cranes take a rest here on their migratory path from north to south and back. Visit the Müritzhof, a former farm-come-café, which can only be reached on foot or by bike. Once there, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the beautiful view over the lush green landscape around the stunning Müritz lake.

The 80 km long Müritz Circular Path is a sporting challenge for cyclists. For those in search of a unique kind of transport, the handcar (Draisine) provides an unusual way to travel through the beautiful Mecklenburg landscape. Of course, you can also rent every kind of watercraft imaginable, meaning you can explore the area’s lakes in style. There’s a lot worth discovering!

The Apartments: An Overview

Within the Wasserturm, there are four apartments. HAGENOW (ground floor), KARGOW (first floor), and GÜSTROW (second floor) are each around 30 sqm. Hidden behind the half-timbered facade, the uppermost apartment, PANKOW, is a duplex with roughly 70 sqm of space. On its lower level, there is an open-plan lounge and kitchen, from where you can access the wrap-around balcony—the former viewing platform. Its three bedrooms and the bathroom are on the upper floor.

Our apartments are non-smoking only. Those with limited mobility are welcome to stay in HAGENOW, as are those wishing to bring pets (by prior arrangement only).

On arrival, our guests will find the aparments equipped with fresh bed linen and towels. The cost of water, electricity, and heating, as well as the use of wifi, are also included in the price.

A private garden surrounding the Wasserturm holds enough space and seating for all guests to enjoy. A sandbox invites the youngest to play while the lawn temps their parents to sun-bathe. There is on-site parking for both cars and bicycles.

The Apartments: Equipment

Given space constraints, only the upper apartments GÜSTROW and PANKOW are equipped with a dishwasher. For the same reason, ground-floor HAGENOW has a microwave oven only. All others have a full-sized oven.

Each apartment comes with a toaster, kettle, espresso maker, coffee machine and French press, as well as thermos flasks for tea and coffee. The kitchens are fully equipped, and—in addition to cutlery and crockery—basic ingredients such as sugar, salt and pepper are included.

For those travelling with little ones, a children's travel bed and a high chair are available on request. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
